Georgian Wine and Astrology

Astrology has been used for centuries to provide insight into a person’s personality, traits, and characteristics. One of the most important aspects of astrology is the Sun and Ascendant, which can influence a person’s preferences in various aspects of life, including Georgian wine. Georgian wine is very eccentric to me and there is something unexplainably unique in its taste. Georgia is known as the ‘cradle of wine’ with a long ancient history of winemaking. Georgia is also the powerhouse wine producer for much of the Soviet Union in the 20th century.

Sun, Ascendant and the Three Modalities

In astrology, the twelve zodiac signs are categorised into three modalities — Cardinal, Fixed and Mutable. Each modality has its strengths and weaknesses as well as motivational tendencies and taste preferences. When comparing your preferences according to your zodiac signs, they can be either one of your Sun ☉, Moon ☽, or Ascendant (AC).

Sun Sign — Your core personality
Moon Sign — What you generally feel deep down
Ascendant — What others generally perceive about you

Get your birth chart here, and then from there, you can spot your Sun ☉, Moon ☽ and Ascendant (AC) on your birth chart. Notice what sign each of them is in. For example, if you have a Sun ☉ in Libra ♎︎, then your Sun’s placement will look something like this on the chart.

For this article, we will only be looking at your Sun Sign and Ascendant. To find your modality, look for your zodiac sign that falls under one of the three modalities in the chart below.

Cardinal – The Initiators

Fixed – The Guardians

Mutable – The Adaptors

Aries ♈️

Leo ♌️ Sagittarius ♐️

Capricorn ♑️

Taurus ♉️

Virgo ♍️

Libra ♎️

Aquarius ♒️

Gemini ♊️

Cancer ♋️ Scorpio ♏️

Pisces ♓️

For example, I have a Sun in Libra and a Scorpio Ascendant. Therefore, I have a Cardinal personality and a Fixed persona which others perceive about me.

Fixed signs

  • Stable, consistent, and resistant to change
  • Like to maintain the status quo and hold their ground
  • Excel in conducting follow-ups, or perhaps to build or maintain a particular system
  • May find it harder to adapt to changes which can be a disadvantage in a fast-changing environment

Mutable signs

  • Flexible, adaptable and versatile
  • Like to go with the flow and adjust to changing circumstances
  • Thrive in a fast-paced and unpredictable environment

A shoutout to The Good Vines Shop for co-authoring this article. The Good Vines Shop is an alcohol merchant that specialises in importing wines from Georgia. I would highly recommend their Georgian wine because I had been invited to try one of their excellent selections, the Qvevri Saperavi (pronounced as hweh-vree-sa-per-ra-vee), and was totally blown away by its unique and savoury taste. I managed to share the wine with my family and they enjoyed it too. To me, it is still mind-blowingly exotic with a touch of eccentricity. Get your own Georgian wine from The Good Vines Shop, and you will thank me later.
